Whistleblower’s have been in the news alot over the last couple years. It seems that people are getting sick of their employees (or the government) doing things that are illegal or immoral. Often times these whistleblowers don’t fair too well when the courts get involved. Many union contracts have language that is designed to protect members publicly calling out their employer, but often that does not seem to be enough.
The law firm of Grant & Eisenhofer is trying to help with a new smart phone app called, “Whistleblower Laws: Know Your Rights.” Available for free through the Apple iTunes App Store (for iPhone) and the Google play app store (for Android), the app guides aspiring whistleblowers through the requirements (and rewards) for bringing a whistleblower action. The app provides links to summaries of relevant laws, offers a checklist to allow a user to determine whether he or she might be a whistleblower, and provides links to Grant & Eisenhofer’s website and blog to allow the prospective litigant to investigate the firm’s qualifications.
